Casting back to the summer holidays of 2019. These were taken on two trips to Porto and to Afife including the surrounding area (even with a day trip to Spain thrown in as well) . Well worth a visit if I may say so…..

If don’t do this everyday then you make mistakes. The girl in the gallery is a young Israeli soldier, I was so nervous that I made a mess of the camera settings and basically forgot everything I know about photography so the shot wasn’t as good as I hoped for.

I did have some qualms about taking pictures at the Western Wall, however I wasn’t there on the Shabbat and no one is recognisable so I don’t think anyone will be offended…..

Still lucky….

After a rather difficult period I’m rekindling my love of photography. Returning to visit Dubai has undoubtedly helped, offering me a host of different motifs that I just couldn’t resist. Watch this space for more from this place and elsewhere….
Leica M9; Summilux 50; Lightroom; VSCO
or a visit to the Hackischen Höfe (Berlin) with a rather surreal analogue film.
Be sure to scroll through all the pictures. Strange sights, strange film, I particularly like the camel with a camera…..

This was taken with the old Rolleiflex and a very particular high definition film from ADOX with 12 ISO.

….since I last posted anything. To be honest I’ve been searching (as ever) for a little inspiration for a new project lasting 53 weeks and I can’t seem to settle on that “one” subject. It’s not for the lack of ideas it’s just that that simply I don’t want to confine myself to one type of motive or one medium or one of whatever…..
Therefore the next few posts will be of things that I’ve been shooting over the past three months. While you read these I’ll be racking my brains for that new “one” subject…..
This is late autumn in Sanssouci….

I pass this tree on those long evening walks with the beast of an animal. It is then that I take the time to ponder and reflect on the past few months.

This is Andree, football coach extraordinaire!
Merry Christmas Everybody!!
Meet Josef!
I know, I don’t post anything for months and then two in the space of two days…. well it is nearly Christmas!
A few years ago after a press conference we held somewhere in Asia, an article was published in one of the local leading newspapers. It was mistakenly accompanied by a picture of me with the title “Dr. Rolf”.
Well I’m here to put the record straight, meet the real Dr. Rolf!
The things parents will do for their kids…..
….like spending a whole day of the holidays in Brandenburg’s Wild West Town El Dorado at the cold end of Autumn.
(It really is well worth a visit by the way!)
I don’t know if you happened to notice, but I’ve been a little bit busy lately…..
Here’s Eva to make up for things!
Here are few pictures of some Eastern European girls I met at the air show in Friedrichshafen. I know I’m fishing for cheap hits but beggars can’t be choosers……
I think the guy in the background really distracts from this shot….. but decide for yourselves. 😉
… on Thuringia’s green pastures.
I had another opportunity to shoot Svenja (can I actually say that without getting into trouble?) a couple of weeks ago. Some were taken with the Edge 80 which is a marvelous lens, even if it is a bit of a b*gg#r to focus manually without “Liveview”.
You can see more of Svenja here!
…. I was going to call this week’s post “Little red riding hood”, but she’s not wearing anything red, there’s no hood, there are wolves in Brandenburg but not here, and finally I’m not sure Ulrike would have appreciated the connotations of the fairy tale.
…. you’ve met before.
It’s always good to get home for a few days, especially when you get to meet up friends you’ve not seen for a long time.
Thanks for the lovely evening and of course the excellent food!
We’re on the home straight…..but there’ll be more to come, albeit somewhat differentiated.
Fujifilm X100 Fujinon f2 23mm Aperture and NIK VSCO – Kodak Portra 160….or gotcha. I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that I don’t really like to post pictures of my family on t’internet. But I thought I’d make an exception here.
Canon 5D Lensbaby Composer Pro with Edge 80 Aperture and NIK…. and practicing. I’ve been wanting one of these for a long time, and when the opportunity arose I snapped it up. The Lensbaby “Edge 80” certainly is very different from anything I’ve ever used before and it should help my diminished creativity for the coming 53 weeks….. (There’s a hint in there somewhere)
Anyway I’d better get practicing…..
