This was taken in August last year when things were just a little easier….. The good times will return, promise!

If you ever happen to fancy a drink in Potsdam, his place is the best in town….

….. or now you see me, now you don’t!
One of these pictures is taken with the Fuji X100 and post-processed with NIK to simulate my favourite Kodak Portra 400 film. The other picture was taken with the Yashica 124G on Kodak Portra 400. Can you tell which is which?
It’s the first time I’ve been to Sweden and it certainly lived up to my expectations in every way. The children and I found plenty of highly qualified candidates suitable for the position of a Swedish Au Pair, a subject which has long been discussed within the family 😉
Canon 5D Canon 24-105 f4 Aperture and NIKI’m being very lenient with myself this week, not only am I using the British definition of a week (i.e. Sunday to Saturday, instead of the German Monday to Sunday), but I’m also posting something for the second time (see week 1) albeit from a very different angle.
I wouldn’t say that we had really bad weather during our annual week’s holiday on the Baltic, but it could have been a little better!
This guy just sat down and started hammering away at those drums …. it was a pleasure to listen to!
This was developed as if it had been shot on Agfa APX 400 film.
It has been a bit of a stressful week, what with one thing and another. So here is something simple and seasonal. It’s my favourite time of year in rural Brandenburg.
Have a good summer!
Some of you might have guessed that the project has not died, moreover everybody is entitled to a bit of a holiday sometime.
After driving back through Germany and the Netherlands this was the view that greeted us on the Stena ferry taking us home.
There will be more to come over the next few days to catch up.

After a short weekend break in the south of the country, this week’s post is centred around the river Saale.
As we have now reached halfway on the photographic journey through the year 2011, this week’s entry is interactive. All those entering the poll (see below) have the chance to become the lucky winner of a once in a lifetime prize.
So here goes:
The first two were taken directly on the banks of the Saale River in Hirschberg (Thuringia). This Bench is the longest to be cut from one log (according to the Guinness Book of Records), and seats approximately 97 people depending on which nationality you are.
f/7.1 1/250 ISO 400 @17mm
f/5 1/500 ISO 400 @34mm
The third picture was shot in Burgk (Thüringen) and shows the new tower (42 metres) with views over the river Saale, the Castle and the surrounding landscapes.
