Singapore Part 1

The decision to travel to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur at the begining of February was not easily made. There were 30 odd confirmed cases of the Coronavirus in Singapore when we left for south-east Asia, looking back 6 weeks later and Germany has just hit the 60,000 mark with the whole planet in dire stress…..

Looking back I think we maybe should have stayed down there!

Stay safe folks and take care!

Week 14 – Green Trees ….

There is much talk about the “Energy Turnaround” here, especially after Fukushima. I’ll leave it up to you to decide whether it’s beneficial to the environment or not….

I’m trying to rekindle my love with my Canon 5D at the moment and that coupled with my incompetence with my last roll of film means that you’re getting digital images remastered as Kodak Portra 400 nc (Natural Colour) this week.

Week 7 – Promises, promises ….. some broken, some kept….

Last week was supposed to be the last of the gloomy winter posts, well forget it! Spring did appear for a couple of days and probably decided it was definitely too cold to come out. The promise kept was from Week 41 – Werderscher Damm last year, when I said I’d be back!

I won’t make any more promises about the weather, promise!

Week 4 – Schloss Glienicke

Took a stroll with the “Big Man” on the hunt for photo opportunities. Me with my Bronica and him with his Canon EOS 1000fn which we got from a flea market for just a few Euros.

I spent a while at the beginning of the year thinking of a new subject for another 53 weeks of blogging and came to the conclusion that I was perhaps better off leaving it open to give me a little more freedom. Well to be honest, I think I need a subject even if it’s only loosely defined and I also need the pressure of having to take a photo on a weekly basis. So starting next week this blog will once again have a subject and a time frame.

Week 47- St. George

Fancy going out in Berlin of an evening and meeting up the English patron saint St. George!

Week 47 - St. George

Week 43 – The Eleventh Hour….

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

We will remember them.

Week 41 – Werderscher Damm

Just before the heavy frost arrived, I’ll be back when the snow appears…..

Week 39 – Wustrow (Baltic)

Another short break on the Baltic coast. I feel as if this is one of the best shots I’ve taken in a long time, I don’t know why, it just feels right somehow.

What do you think?

This is actually Wustrow and not Ahrenshoop (which is just down the road) ….. sorry folks!

Week 38 – Can we have a go?

I saw these two while I was with my little people at the fairground and couldn’t resist the shot …….

Week 37 – Autumn

Two deck chairs on the lawn …. pushing it a little I know, but nonetheless ……..

Week 36 – Time flies …. 1992 to 2012

These two have been in the company for twenty years…..

Week 35 – The ILA and Türk Hava Kuvvetleri

The Berlin Air Show has come and gone, thanks to the Turkish Air Force for a great display…..

Week 34 – backstoltz

Bit of a “selfie” this week, only the second time ever!

It was taken during a late summer evening’s stroll to the local ice café.

Week 31 – Schlössernacht….

or even the night of the palaces. This is an annual “cultural feast” during which the Sanssouci Park opens its gates to visitors well into the night. The palaces are ablaze with light and classical music resounds from every corner, this is rounded off with a fantastic firework display at midnight.

We managed to sneak on the eve of the occasion while all was quiet for a quick nosey.

Week 22 – This is art….

This is a picture of the little people with a bridge covered in barrier tape ….

Week 20 – BER

BER is the international code for the brand new single airport in Berlin. It was due to open today and my folks would have had the pleasure of flying from it for the first time. But hey-ho it wasn’t to be, I just hope they’ll finish it by March!

This was the week that I officially turned into an old man! Thanks for the great birthday everybody!
