Did you mean “puttering” around the garden? Really neat photos.
I’ve never heard of “Puttering Around” but after checking online it appears to be a derivation of “Pottering Around” or the other way around. Where I come from in the north west of England we tend to say “Pottering”

Ahh….European dialect. Interesting. It’s “puttering” in the States. I studied Latin, Greek, and Linguistics at the Univ of PA. Learned something today!
